After finishing this novel, Marla would not let me go, so she will continue in her quest in and near San Antonio, Texas. The next novel hopefully will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The Creation of Marla Adams is a mystery suspense novel set in a small town in Central Texas. Marla Adams has been a cop for a short time. Nice, quiet, and happy to play second fiddle behind Crosby, her Oxy addicted, alcoholic husband who always takes the lead. Then again, maybe third place behind the Chief of Police, her psychotic father, but definitely better than her irritating little brother cop.
A killer terrorizes the town, leaving perplexing numbers carved on the victims. Marla is thrown into the lead investigation after Crosby is sent to rehab and her father dives deep into schizoid hell. The town’s people and the rest of the police force expect her failure. Charging headlong into the killer’s chasm, she is willing to sacrifice her life to bring justice.
